Introducing the NYC Response Lab
As COVID-19 has suddenly invaded our lives, New Yorkers do what they do best: respond. The NYC Response Lab is creating and deploying innovative solutions to help New York City communities, businesses, and city agencies recover from the crisis.
Here are some critical aspects of the crisis:
- There is still a lot of questions about the pandemic.
- There will likely be a second wave.
- Long term community-level impacts of the crisis are still unknown.
- Many organizations and innovators are looking to support NYC communities but no clear path exists.
- Response to the crisis has not been equally distributed across the city.
The Response Lab was organically built out of necessity to collaboratively respond to the tangible needs of communities for access to resources and assistance during the pandemic, and to promulgate the many quick-response innovations developed. And we are now expanding it to the reopening and the build-back-better efforts.
The Response Lab is a joint initiative of CIV:LAB and the NYCEDC. You can find us at https://responselabnyc.com/ and reach us at nyc-response-lab@googlegroups.com.
