Congratulations to our Deputy Commissioner of Water Supply Paul Rush who was recently honored with the prestigious Fuller Award, presented by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) New York Section during their annual conference held April 12–14 in Saratoga Springs.

Deputy Commissioner Rush was selected from 11 nominees that were reviewed by the five-person committee comprised of past winners. The Fuller Award is bestowed upon a selected member of the association for their “distinguished service to the water supply field in commemoration of the sound engineering skill, the brilliant diplomatic talent, and the constructive leadership which characterized the life of George Warren Fuller.”

Fuller was an accomplished and renowned engineer who, during his 34 years of practice, advised more than 150 cities, commissions, and corporations on their water supply and sewerage problems. (Fun tidbit: Our Deputy Commissioner of Water and Sewer Operations Tasos Georgelis secretly coordinated with Jenny Ingrao, executive director of the New York Section AWWA, to surprise Paul during a Zoom call with the exciting news in advance of the conference!). Way to go and keep up the great work!!
