Members of Green City Force recently partnered with our public affairs staff for training and education classes at our Newtown Creek Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

The group had a chance to tour the facility, which is the largest of New York City’s 14 treatment plants and a spectacular example of wastewater treatment infrastructure.

Green City Force’s program prepares young adults aged 18–24 who reside in the New York City Housing Authority and have a high school diploma or equivalency for careers through green service. Being part of the Green City Force Service Corps is a full-time commitment encompassing service, training and skills-building experiences related to sustainable buildings and communities.
