Surveying the Solar Eclipse

One of our professional surveyors took these unique images of the solar eclipse yesterday while working near West Branch Reservoir in Putnam County. Before modern GPS technology was available, surveyors would find true north by marking the leading and trailing edges of the sun. Fortunately, our surveyors kept their solar filters and used one to make these beautiful images of the eclipse.
