New York State’s trout fishing season began on April 1. Our reservoirs are open for shore fishing and for those who have a steam-cleaned boat stored at the reservoirs with a valid boat tag.

A few things to keep in mind…

🎣 All New York State requirements for fishing licenses, take limits, boater safety, etc., apply at the reservoirs. Know the rules and follow them!

🎣 Anglers who use the reservoirs must have a valid DEP Access Permit. You can get this free permit online.

🎣 Because of the COVID-19 public health emergency, we are not currently steam cleaning boats or processing new boat tags. Those with valid tags on boats already stored at the reservoirs may use their boats.

🎣 Boats that have not been steam cleaned cannot be used on the reservoirs. Kayaks and canoes also cannot be used until the recreational boating season begins in May.

🎣 Although outdoor activities remain safe, please follow all the health guidance that experts have reiterated in recent weeks. Maintain a physical distance from others, wash your hands often and vigorously. Do your part to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

🎣 Have fun and be safe!
