We met during our time on the Hevruta gap year program and quickly realized we’d make great college roommates. We care about discussing Israel and exploring Jewish identity, but we also just enjoy hanging out together. When we arrived at NYU, we knew we wanted to get involved with Hillel. We began attending Shalhevet shabbats and this semester Sarah serves on Hillel’s e-board as the external relations chair while Carolyn interns for Hillel’s JLF classes. Hanging out at NYU Hillel has not only been a way for us to connect with our Judaism but has also deepened our friendship in ways we hadn’t expected.
