Notes:

- Bustling street, joyful atmosphere

-Smelled the pierogis from the Veselka booth

- Nice, sunny weather — not too hot, not too cold
- Bright colored tents selling bright colored items
- Different songs drifting from the different booths, but not every booth was playing music
- The songs were upbeat and happy
- People were mostly wearing masks
- Felt like a return almost back to pre-covid times, or even just to earlier in the summer — but with masks

Quotes:
- “Free stuff” — overheard from a vendor
- “I’ll give you $5 for it!” — overheard from a shopper
- People haggling prices
- “That’s so you!” — shopper to their friend, looking at a scarf
- “How much are these?” “$15” — an interaction between a shopper and a vendor selling jewelry
- “Free stuff! Come see if there’s something you want! ….Or need!” — vendor at the free stuff table

Details:
- Vendors set up tables/tents/booths up and down 10th st between 2nd and 3rd avenues
- St Mark’s Church
- Block Festival from 9am to 6pm on September 11, 2021
- Flyer said “Antiques, collectibles, music”
- Booths had clothing, household objects, shoes, jewelry, books, art, records, and other knick knacks
- Also food/drink vendors, like Veselka
- Most booths were affordable with clothing for around $10, but the vintage booths were more expensive
- $1 bins
- $5 records, very cheap!
- Some booths were giving stuff out for free
- Fashionably dressed shoppers, lots of young shoppers
- Flea market similar to Chelsea Flea, but with a bit more of a garage sale vibe
- Bins of old pictures of landscapes and strangers
- Nice variety of goods
- Sense of community
