Marketing out of the Unknown
If you are mindful about it, I think your marketing can help you understand yourself.
I owe this post to a new, lifetime friend — a Coach, member of my tribe, man, Northerner.
It is a series of questions… and then a list of skills.
How does putting yourself out there makes you feel?
Where do you feel safe to ask for feedback / reassurance?
Do you like being heard?
What IS being heard? Being agreed (and therefore possibly disagreed) with?
How do you feel about not being responded to?
How do you react to feedback?
What does resolution mean to you?
Do you feel in control of your actions?
Can you own your part in conflicts?
What is the outcome of your internal conflicts?
Do you have coping mechanisms for when you feel vulnerable?
What are the missing steps you crave?
Are you clear on your own best practice?
Is discomfort a necessary path to action and self-awareness?
How do you protect yourself?
What is confidence?
Now. Here are some skill words associated with doing marketing. Do they help you to process any of the above questions? When you read through them, do you feel encouraged to do any self-work?
I create space for coaches tackling marketing to name, discuss and use the emotions that doing marketing evokes. I support clients to work through challenging emotions so as to be more confident about putting themselves out there to help others.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss anything that the above brings up for you. I warmly welcome your feedback and would love to help.
