Native trading in O3!

Today, we have started rolling out the latest version of O3 for mobile with brand new, fully integrated trading functionality. This release comes hot on the heels of the release of our dApp browser last month, which allowed users to log into Switcheo Exchange, without needing to share their private keys anywhere. Users can simply hit connect, enter their finger print or passcode and they are good to go. We have seen a great response to it.

But, that was just the first step.

This new update takes that integration one step further, connecting directly with the Switcheo API from within the app UI, allowing users to buy and sell tokens directly from our marketplace.

O3 is heavily focused on creating a better experience for our users, so we decided to take a bit of a different approach on trading. Instead of creating just another trading desk, with all the charts charts, candle sticks, spreads and order books, we decided to abstract away all the noise, and create a simplified way to buy and sell tokens.

Silence is a beautiful thing.

We really believe that there is a big future for this stuff, but one thing really holding it all back is the adoption of every day users. It’s all just a bit too scary for less tech savvy folks at the moment. We are hoping to reduce the barrier to entry and bring fresh new users into the ecosystem.

We think it should be something like this:

1. Get the app
2. Buy/sell some tokens
3. Send and request stuff from friends
4. Buy stuff you want.

Simple as that.

So without further ado. O3 Native Trading!

YEAAAAAAHHHH! SO EASY!

All of this was not without it’s challenges. While we are trying to remove the complexity of trading, we still have to adhere to how decentralized exchanges work, which is pretty… complex. Considering volume, spread, order books and erratic pricing. Boiling all that information down to an easy to read and usable interface is no simple task, but we think out first release is a great start.

We have also included a new Orders tab in the Wallet screen to check how your open orders are doing, and an Apps tab in the Marketplace. Here you can find Switcheo, NEO Tracker & NEO Naming Service. We also have a few other cool apps in the pipeline, so keep an eye on it.

We will keep gathering feedback and iterating on it over time to make it totally awesome.

As mentioned above, in the Apps tab, we offer the full Switcheo experience for those of you who like a little more control over trading. It’s entirely up to you how you get things done.
