Native trading in O3 — Step by step

Recently we launched our native trading UI in the O3 mobile apps (coming soon to desktop). This article is a step by step guide on how to get the most out of your trades.

Introduction

Our native trade UI’s goal was to simplify the process of buying and selling tokens. We still have the option for the full Switcheo trading experience in our app under the apps tab, if that is more your speed.

So let’s get started.

Depositing tokens into you trade account

The first step to making trades is to deposit tokens into your trade account. This is a separate account in your wallet screen where you can keep funds that you wish to trade with.

Just tap the deposit button, select the token and amount and hit submit.

Note: Deposits can take about 15 to 30 seconds to arrive in the account.

Once you have some tokens in your trade account, you are ready to buy and sell!

Buying tokens

To buy tokens, simple head over to the marketplace tab, find the token you want, and hit the Buy button in the bottom right corner (for iOS users, Tap Trade and then Buy).

From this view, you can set the amount, the price and which token to trade with.

Note: You can only trade with NEO or GAS as a base pair. It is not possible to trade NEP-5 tokens with each other directly.

Hit review and double check everything is correct, then submit your order.

Selling tokens

Selling tokens is basically the same flow but the other way around, deposit the tokens you want to sell into your trade account.

Pro tip: you can tap a token in your trade account and it will popup an action menu with an option to sell.

Set the amount, the price and what you want to receive in return (only NEO or GAS base pairs) and hit Review > Submit!

Filling orders

Now that you have submitted your order, a few things can happen.

Your order is instantly filled.
This means that there was already an order on the books that fitted your request. If this is the case, your new tokens will show up in your trade account within a few seconds!

Your order is added to the books.
If there is no orders that fit your request, it will be added to the order book until someone is willing to trade for that price. You order can be found in the Open orders tab on the wallet screen (For iOS users, open orders are found under the … icon on the trade account in the wallet screen).

Your order is partially filled.
This happens when there is an order on the books that fits your price request but not for the full amount of tokens.

In this case, we will trade those tokens and leave the rest of the order on the books for another person to fill the remaining amount. The partially filled amount will appear in your trade account and you can see the remaining part of the order in the orders tab on the wallet screen (For iOS users, open orders are found under the … icon on the trade account in the wallet screen).

Note: Any tokens that are currently tied up in open orders will not be shown in your trade account until the order is filled. If you are missing tokens, check your open orders.

Order history

You can find all your orders in the Orders tab (For iOS users, open orders are found under the … icon on the trade account in the wallet screen), including currently open orders and previous orders.

From here you can tap on an open order to cancel it.

Withdrawing from trade account

Once you have completed your trades, your new tokens will appear in your trading account.

It’s recommended that you withdraw the tokens you are not trading with, back into your O3 wallet.

To do this, just hit the withdraw button on the trade account (for iOS users, it’s in the action menu under the … icon)

Select the token and amount you wish to withdraw and hit the button.

Note: it can take up to 1 minute to show up in your O3 wallet.

Trading with Switcheo interface

As mentioned earlier, we still support the complete Switcheo experience within O3. You can find the link under the Marketplace > Apps tab.

This will open up a new window for Switcheo and you can log in directly with just your Fingerprint/Passcode.
