The Oakland A’s announced on March 28 that they awarded 90 partial season tickets to 25 families as part of the 2018 Season Ticket Scholarship Program. The program, which was introduced in November 2017, awards partial season ticket memberships to fans experiencing financial hardships or who are otherwise unable to purchase A’s tickets.

“We recognize that the game of baseball can provide relief to individuals who are facing difficult times,” said Catherine Aker, vice president of Communications and Community for the A’s. “We are extremely excited to award our first group of scholarships and to continue to find unique ways to support our community and fans.”

The A’s will open their 50th anniversary season with a rare 1:05 p.m. Opening Day game versus the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday, March 29, at the Oakland Coliseum. The following night, the A’s will honor members of the 50th Anniversary Team before they host the Angels for Opening Night.
