Easter is quickly approaching! Throughout the season, there will be moments to pause and reflect, moments to centre on Jesus, and moments to celebrate in the joy of what it is that Jesus is alive.

Here is a breakdown of the Oasis Easter schedule for 2025:

HOLY WEEK WHATSAPP GROUP

Returning for this year, we are going to be immersing ourselves in the story of Jesus and his journey to the cross — walking through the whole Gospel of Mark and the crucifixion and resurrection narratives in the Gospel of John during Holy Week. This will include daily video/audio readings, and space to share reflections with one another every day. The group can be found via the Oasis WhatsApp Community.

MAUNDY THURSDAY MEAL

On the night before his death, Jesus gathered with his disciples to share a meal of remarkable power and significance as he washed his disciples feet, taught about the Kingdom, spoke about his death, inaugurated the practice of communion, and worshipped. This Maundy Thursday, from 6:30pm on Thursday 17th April at South Street, there’s an opportunity to enter into the spirit of that night by gathering together, sharing a meal, reading scripture, taking communion, worshipping together and connecting with one another to ponder the significance of the Easter Weekend ahead. Click here to sign up (which really helps with catering!).

GOOD FRIDAY WALK & OPEN AIR SERVICE

Oasis is joining with other local churches to prayer walk around Harborne on Good Friday, including a time to stand together at an Open Air Service on the High Street. Everyone is welcome, whether for the whole thing or to join part way along the route, or just on the High Street. The walk starts at St Faith & St Lawrence, departing at 8:55am, with the Open Air Service at 10:30am outside Boots, and the morning finishes with hot cross buns and refreshments at Harborne Baptist Church. You can find a full plan for the different stops by clicking here.

RESURRECTION SUNDAY

You are warmly invited to the annual Easter Sunday celebration at Oasis Church! With worship, giveaways, an Easter message, and (very excitingly!) baptisms, these are always mornings of great joy and fun for the whole community. Usual time and place, from 10:15am for a 10:30am start at South Street and online (please note that the livestream will not include baptisms or testimonies).

ALPHA

On the back of the good news of Easter, it’s then time for the next Alpha Course! This is a chance to explore life and the Christian faith in a friendly, open and informal environment. Come along for a free meal, a time of great conversation and questions that make you think. There’s no pressure, no charge, and everyone is welcome — there’s no need to have any kind of background in Christianity, and no question is off-limits! The course runs for six weeks, starting on 29th April. Each session starts with sharing a meal together, before watching a thought-provoking video, then breaking up into smaller groups to discuss what we’ve heard. Interested? Sign up by clicking here and filling in the form.
