We are announcing our biggest Hackathon to date: the $200,000 Oasis Bloom Hackathon, with the support of Jump Crypto, Newman Capital, Neo Global Capital, and Hashed. The online hackathon will take place on the Devpost platform from March 10, 2022 until May 2, 2022.

We foster a passionate global community of innovative developers dedicated to building a better future where blockchain is more accessible, easily understandable, and usable by everyone; while at the same time being secure and private. Our vision is to propel Web3 forward, scaling it and evolving it from infancy to wide adoption. Join us to make this a reality!

Hackathon Focus Areas

We are looking for the brightest and boldest developers to build a DeFi 2.0 or P2E Gaming DApp on Oasis Emerald, the EVM Compatible ParaTime. In return, you will be rewarded with access to funding, community, network support, and $200,000 in prizes.

DeFi2.0

DeFi 2.0 are decentralized protocols that are solving the issues of DeFi 1.0. Typical issues include but are not limited to 1) how to unlock the value of staked funds in the liquidity pools; 2) how to mitigate risks of impermanent loss; 3) how to develop self-repaying loans; 4) how to develop smart contract insurance.

GameFi & P2E Gaming

GameFi and play-to-earn (P2E) games create distinct models that balance gaming enjoyment with financial rewards. For example, games can be designed to incentivize you for achievements such as winning tournaments or specific battles between characters, trading digital property, or in-game marketplace trading.

NFT & Blockchain Identity Badge FOR ALL HACKATHON PARTICIPANTS

To celebrate Oasis’ vibrant, thriving, and growing NFT community, every eligible participant of the Oasis Bloom Hackathon will receive an exclusive NFT, as well as a MBuddy blockchain identity badge on MetaMirror! This surprise NFT collection will be the second NFT collection officially endorsed by Oasis, and will be developed in partnership with the MetaMirror Gallery from the Auth3 Network. The NFT collection will have two tiers: an NFT for all participants and an NFT for the official winners of the Hackathon. In addition to bragging rights, the NFT and MBuddy blockchain identity badge will grant all Hackathon participants potential eligibility for future dev contribution privileges from Oasis and the Auth3 Network.

The Oasis Network is Scalable and Developer Friendly

Oasis Network has experienced record growth and surpassed $100 million in TVL in less than 12 hours of the launch of YuzuSwap, the first community-built DEX. So, now is the perfect time to join the Oasis Community!

Emerald, the EVM compatible ParaTime, allows easy integration with EVM-based DApps, such as DeFi, NFTs, Metaverse, and crypto gaming. Developers can easily start building on Emerald by using existing EVM tooling and deploying their Solidity smart contracts through our public Web3 gateway.

Through its separation of consensus and computation into two parallel layers, Oasis is far more scalable than other blockchains and can manage many complex transactions at scale. Oasis is ideal for DeFi and GameFi due to instant finality, 99% lower gas fees versus Ethereum, high throughput, privacy protection, and defense against MEV. With the upcoming release of confidential smart contract modules within Cipher ParaTime, there will be support for WebAssembly smart contracts and for confidential compute, allowing even more DeFi use cases to come to life.
