Follow team ObEN on a tour of China’s Largest AI Conference.

It’s hot, humid, and rainy in Shanghai, but nothing can dampen the spirits, or the crowds, at the 2018 World AI Conference in Shanghai, China. Situated along a scenic area of the Huangpu River, the conference has drawn exhibitors and attendees from all over the world including Tencent, Google, Amazon, and of course our ObEN team. The list of speakers reads like a who’s who of China’s rapidly expanding tech elite — including Jun Lei of Xiaomi, Robin Li of Baidu, Fei Fei Li of Google AI, Pony Ma of Tencent, and Jack Ma of Alibaba.

The keynote addresses at the conference are being delivered by some of the top thought leaders in AI

Team ObEN is here at the conference by invitation of the organizers, which include many leading departments and ministries in the Chinese government, to showcase our Personal AI (PAI) technology. Visitors to our booth can learn how we create their Personal AI with just one selfie and short voice recording, and experience creating their own PAI.

Stepping into ObEN’s large exhibition space is like stepping into a digital playground. Once attendees create their PAI, they can choose to see their PAI in two experiences — a mesmerizing dance or a photo-op next to the PAI of SNH48 member Aijia.

Of course, there are plenty of other must-see exhibits and hidden gems scattered around the conference grounds.

ObEN investor Tencent’s booth exudes a futuristic feel, with soft blue lights and spectral beeps emerging from every corner. Their recent update of the QQ web browser allows users to utilize AI and image recognition to pull up information about artworks, plants, even wines simply by positioning the item in front of their smartphone camera.

ObEN’s neighboring booths showcase a range of cool technology, including a go-playing robot and a racetrack for mind-controlled miniature cars.

Google’s massive showcase demonstrates the power of art, AI, and fun. From matching simple doodles with grand works of art, finding the connective threads between disparate images, and even an AI-powered music composition partner, their exhibition hall is a celebration of the spirit of creativity.

Team ObEN is getting ready to close out the first few days of the conference which were open to VIP and government officials. But don’t worry, the fun isn’t over yet. Starting Sept 20th and through the end of the week, the conference will be open for general public admission. If you are at the conference, you may even get to say hello to our celebrity guest and see her side by side with their Personal AI!
