Cobbled streets, crisp autumn air, and the hallowed halls of some of the greatest universities in the world greeted the ObEN team on our latest visit to London. This month, we visited our neighbors across the pond to explore research and collaboration opportunities at Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial College, where some of the world’s best talent gather to learn, teach, and explore.

We kicked off the visit at Cambridge University’s Bradfield Centre — a state-of-the-art facility set in the heart of Cambridge Science Park. Along with the Centre, ObEN held a joint event inviting some of the leading experts in healthcare and healthtech to discuss using ObEN’s Personal AI (PAI) as a basis for personal health tools. Our CEO Nikhil Jain gave a presentation on our technology and our adoption of the Project PAI blockchain, then settled into a panel discussion about the various uses of PAI on the blockchain in healthcare. Panelists included Karen Livingstone, National Director of the Innovation Exchange at the NHS, Professor Christopher R. Lowe, Director of the Cambridge Academy of Therapeutic Sciences, Joop Tanis, Director of MedTech Consulting and Business Development at Health Enterprise East, and more. Our successful visit even garnered coverage in the Cambridge Independent.

A train ride away from Cambridge is Imperial College — which leads the UK in terms of integration of blockchain and crypto solutions throughout its campus. There, the ObEN team shared our vision for PAI on the blockchain with students in the Blockchain and Crypto-Technologies Society and showcased how our PAIs can we made with just a quick face scan.

Our final stop was at Oxford, a return visit for the ObEN team to get some updates from the Oxford Internet Institute and the Oxford Foundry, where we are working toward collaborative projects that use Personal AI and the PAI blockchain to explore entrepreneurship as well as research questions in data sovereignty, control, and value. Working with Oxford’s powerful brain trust of academics, students, and associated enterprises, we hope to tackle some of the most pressing technological challenges as they relate to PAI, as well as take a proactive role in addressing the social impact of the technology we create.
