SoftBank World 2018 — ObEN’s Personal AI in the Information Revolution
This week, ObEN’s Personal AI technology was on full display at SoftBank World 2018, the SoftBank Group’s premiere annual event showcasing the latest in innovative technologies from around the world.
SoftBank World is the largest corporate event held by the SoftBank Group, drawing thousands of attendees annually from across industry, research, government, and of course executives from SoftBank’s various subsidiaries and partners. The event has garnered a reputation for being a forecaster of upcoming technology trends, with each year’s theme homing in on key disruptors in the technology industry. This year’s event focused on the “Information Revolution”. In particular, the keynote address by SoftBank Founder and CEO Masayoshi Son elaborated on the current AI landscape and the power AI has to connect and change the entire world.
The ObEN team was invited to participate as exhibitors at the conference, where we demonstrated our proprietary full-stack AI technology, which allows anyone in the world to create and use their very own Personal AI (PAI). Each day, we were also featured in a technology presentation where our co-founders Adam Zheng and Nikhil Jain shared why ObEN elected to adopt the Project PAI blockchain. Using the immutable blockchain technology, we enable users to secure and authenticate their PAI on the blockchain. Our user’s not only have full control and ownership of their PAI, but also retain control over the associated data tied to their PAI. Many attendees who visited our booth were keenly interested in this vision of the information economy where users can control and monetize their own personal data by tying that data to their blockchain-secure PAI — a perfect fit for the theme of this year’s conference.
At the conference, our co-founder and COO Adam Zheng gave an exclusive interview to reporters from CCTV, China’s preeminent national TV broadcaster. According to Adam “ObEN uses blockchain technology to create Personal AI that serve as your double in the parallel digital world. Your own Personal AI can be enriched through data sampling, helping it to become more and more like you. With time and continued development, your PAI can even start handling tasks for you, managing social interactions, and perhaps one day achieve seamless human-computer interactions that will allow you to do more with your time by freeing you from routine, mundane tasks.”
We’ve said a fond goodbye to SoftBank World for this year, but we’ll be seeing the SoftBank team again soon. ObEN will be part of the third cohort of the SoftBank Innovation Program, where we will develop prototype solutions for some interesting implementations of our PAI technology in the AR/VR space. With personalized, intelligent 3D avatars, ObEN’s pioneering technology can provide a richer, more authenticate experience in VR and AR, expanding the possibilities beyond gaming and entertainment to education, healthcare, even vocational training. We look forward to leveraging SoftBank’s global resources to advance and scale our PAI technology and explore more ways people can benefit from Personal AI on the blockchain.
