Cambridge Conference on EU law on 8th September

Celebrations will focus on an anniversary conference which will look at the challenges facing the European Union in the future. This will be hosted by the Cambridge Law Faculty on 8th September 2017 and will include presentations from Cambridge law faculty members, Advocate Generals at the Court of Justice, as well as speakers from the professional diplomatic worlds. It will take account of a wide range of perspectives in considering the numerous current challenges facing the European Union, to mention only a few; Brexit, US elections, refugee crisis, immigration and I could go on….

If you have a particular expertise and perspective and would like your name to be included with those of our illustrious speakers, here’s your chance, as we are reserving 2 places on the panels for our alumni .

What do you need to do?

Send us an outline of your proposed paper by the 28th February. Your proposal should not exceed 1000 words but should:

a) give a clear outline of the substance of your paper

b) include a brief cv, including list of publications/ experience

c) state your connection with the BLC/CEEMC (BLC year of studies/centre and/or CEEMC year of participation/university name.

An initial selection process will then take place in March and then candidates will be invited for second round presentations/online interviews.

Conference programme and participation

Naturally we will also expect that the topics discussed in the conference will facilitate questions and debate amongst the audience, so hope that our alumni will also register to participate in the conference itself and the celebratory social event at Queens College that evening. More information on this will be available from March so keep your eyes open!
