Who
Norman John Warren was born in London, England, on June 25, 1942, a year after the Battle of Britain had ended, but while England was still fighting World War II.
Warren became an avid film fan thanks to his mother, who began taking him with her to the movies at a very young age. The young Norman was interested not only in the films themselves, but also by “the dancing beam of light coming from the small window of the projection booth,” as he explained in a 2012 interview with Rock! Shock! Pop!
His aunt worked as an usher at a local theater, and she was able to convince her boss to let her nephew visit the projection booth. For his ninth birthday, Norman got a projector and three short films as a gift from his parents. Three years later he added a movie camera to his equipment and started making his own short films. when I was given a cine camera for my twelfth birthday.
