2024년도 옵저버는 인도네시아 관측망 구축 및 확대 그리고 이를 활용한 날씨 서비스 개발에 집중할 계획입니다.
작년 12월에 KB부코핀은행과 기상관측망 구축 계약을 체결하였고 통신 테스트를 완료하였습니다. 상반기 내에 인도네시아에서 W-Station V2에 대한 SDPPI(유무선통신) 인증을 받은 후 본격적으로 부코핀은행 지점에 관측기를 설치하게 됩니다.
옵저버는 인구 밀집도가 높은 지역에 위치한 은행 지점을 활용하여 실생활과 밀접한 기상 정보를 수집할 수 있습니다. 특히 W-Station V2는 강수의 유무 뿐만 아니라 시간대별 강수의 밀도와 강수형태 그리고 강수패턴 등을 분석할 수 있습니다. 이를 토대로 실시간으로 이상강수에 대한 경보를 지역별로 제공할 수 있으며 초단기 예보를 더하여 사전에 강수 피해를 최소화할 수 있도록 안내할 수 있습니다. 필요시 날씨정보를 수집하는 다양한 센서들을 추가하여 재난 정보를 보다 정확하고 긴밀하게 포착해나갈 계획입니다. 인도네시아는 매년 홍수와 산사태로 경제적/인명적 피해가 속출하고 있기에 옵저버의 날씨 서비스는 유용하게 이용되며 상업적 가치가 있을 것으로 판단합니다.
옵저버는 현지 영업을 통해 KB부코핀은행 외에도 다양한 업체 혹은 정부기관 등 과 보다 촘촘한 관측망을 구축해나가고자 합니다.
데이터스토어는 상반기 중 오픈 할 예정입니다. 다만, 국내가 아닌 인도네시아 관측 데이터 및 서비스/상품을 주력으로 판매하고자 하는 바 현지 관측망 구축이 선행되어야 하며 데이터 관측에 대한 안정화 시기를 거친 후에 데이터스토어가 실질적으로 운영 될 것으로 예상하고 있습니다.
옵저버는 국내에서 관측망 구축부터 자체 예보 서비스 구축까지 전 분야에 걸친 경험과 노하우가 있습니다. 하지만 인도네시아의 지역적 특성 및 날씨 환경에 대한 학습은 부족한 상태입니다.
그렇기에 옵저버는 우선적으로는 관측망 구축과 확대에 주력할 계획이며 동시에 국내외 기상업체들과 협업을 통하여 서비스와 상품들을 개발하고자 합니다. 현재도 다양한 업체들과 협업 구조에 대해서 논의를 진행하고 있습니다.
올해 가시적인 성과를 내고 가치를 제고할 수 있도록 노력하겠습니다.

In 2024, Observer plans to focus on building and expanding the Indonesian observation network and developing weather services from it.
Last December, we signed a contract with KB Bukopin Bank to build a weather observation network and completed telecommunication tests. After receiving SDPPI (wired and wireless communication) certification for W-Station V2 in Indonesia within the first half of the year, Observer weather stations will be installed at KB Bukopin Bank branches.
Observers can collect weather information that is close to population pattern by utilizing bank branches located in densely populated areas. In particular, W-Station V2 can analyze not only the presence or absence of precipitation, but also the density, type, and pattern of precipitation by the range of time. Based on this, real-time warnings about extreme precipitation can be provided for each region, and by adding ultra-short-term forecasts, alert can be provided in advance to minimize precipitation damage. We plan to capture disaster information more accurately and closely by adding various sensors that collect weather information when necessary. Indonesia continues to experience economic damage and loss due to floods and landslides every year, so we believe Observer’s weather service will be very useful and have commercial value.
Through global business development, Observer seeks to build a tighter observation network with various companies and government agencies in addition to KB Bukopin Bank.
The data store is scheduled to launch in the first half of the year. However, as we want to focus mainly on Indonesian observation data and service/product, instead of Korea, data store would be only launched in production once observation network has been stabilized. We expect that the data store will be operational after a stabilization period.
Observer has experience and know-how in all fields, from establishing domestic observation networks to establishing its own forecast services. However, experience in Indonesia’s local weather characteristics and weather environment is not sufficient.
Therefore, Observer plans to first focus on building and expanding the observation network, while also developing services and products through collaboration with domestic and foreign weather data service providers. We are currently discussing partnership structures with various companies.
This year, we would continue to do our best to achieve tangible results and promote value.
