The Glass and the Library

My heart was built from the bottom up
A glass empty,
Meant to be filled.
Each passing year
Streams of thoughts
Emotions
Memories.
A glass half full.
Progress even further,
Another year
And another.
My 365 paged book
Each year,
Added a new edition
Of my life
To the library within my heart.
A glass ¾ full.
Experience.
Life.
Edition 15- the beginning of the end.
Edition 16- when does it get better?
Edition 17- it doesn’t.
A glass shattered.
Streaks of red,
Splattered on the pages of Edition 17.
A library,
Holds no more meaning.
A glass jagged.
Placed back together,
Piece by broken piece.
A library,
Torn apart,
Reshelved and reread.
Edition 18.
Life continues here.
