Promoting Meera Clark to Principal
Leveling up the Obvious Investment Team
Today, we are thrilled to re-introduce Meera Clark as the newest Principal at Obvious. She has made a significant impact on our team since joining in 2019, and this marks an exciting next chapter in her venture journey.
Prior to Obvious, Meera worked with technology companies across a variety of capacities at Morgan Stanley. As a member of the firm’s Technology Investment Banking team, Meera supported consumer internet and software executives through both late stage private placements and Initial Public Offerings. Meera also scaled the firm’s early stage technology accelerator, the Multicultural Innovation Lab, focused on supporting female and multicultural entrepreneurs.
Meera brings together a sharp, Wall Street-trained analytical mind alongside an ability to synthesize the broader, macro narratives that capture our changing world. She has demonstrated the capacity to break down complex industries and consumer trends to build researched points of view about what is likely to come next.
In addition to hard skills, Meera’s personal working style has been a great addition to the broader Obvious community. She has quickly added thoughtfulness, candor, and presence to all aspects of the job and we have heard rave reviews from our LPs, founders, and industry peers who have crossed paths with Meera.
Meera practices an intentional brand of investing that aligns well to the work that we do at Obvious. Over the last couple of years, she has been our most voracious reader and writer — covering wide ranging topics including retail, distributed finance, online communities, and religion.
She has sourced multiple OV investments and is active on boards within our portfolio. In addition to her responsibilities at Obvious, she has also been an active member of All Raise, playing a meaningful role in organizing events such as the annual VC summit.
