The Future of General Contracting
Quick, convenient, and clean — thanks to RenoRun.

As we’ve previously written, Obvious is bullish on what we call the Urban Upgrade. When we look forward to the near future we wish existed, three words always jump out for cities: clean, communal, and connected. Put simply, as cities scale at an unprecedented pace, we want them to be sustainable and livable for all citizens.
We’re putting our money where the future is going with industry defining companies across the Urban Upgrade. With Plant Prefab and Canvas, we’re focused on making sustainable building fast, affordable, and gorgeous. Keyo is reimagining a more digitally delightful relationship between landlords and tenants. With Lyric we see a dramatically improved experience for the modern urban business travelers. Finally, Proterra, Lilium, and Amply are all playing crucial roles in clearing the air of urban environments with their focus on zero emission mass transit systems.
Today we’re announcing an investment in RenoRun. RenoRun is tackling one of the lowest hanging fruits in modern construction: waste and inefficiency. RenoRun is transforming the general contractor world by delivering all needed materials and tools onsite, eliminating the time-consuming runs to lumber yards, home improvement stores, and distributors.

Digitizing this notoriously unpopular process is a major step forward. By allowing for fast and efficient delivery, GCs are now ordering just what they need while avoiding the common practice of over-ordering to prevent added runs. This not only saves real money and time, but it also lowers waste in the process. Since waste in construction is rampant, this new model is being embraced by all stakeholders.
RenoRun is tackling one of the lowest hanging fruits in modern construction: waste and inefficiency.
However, there’s more to the vision. By controlling the ordering and last mile systems, RenoRun is in an ideal position to offer alternative options within the ordering flow. Whether we’re talking about less toxic paint options, sustainably harvested lumber or fully transparent “ingredient” labels for drywall, RenoRun’s digitally native offering is timed to take advantage of a general contractor community demanding more transparency and options — like all next gen consumers.
We’re thrilled to join Eamonn O’Rourke and his talented team as they bring a major upgrade to the hard-working men and women building and renovating our urban systems.
