Occam.fi Launches IDO Competitions — Beginning with CardWallet🎉

We’ve been thinking hard about how to increase engagement and excitement leading up to each IDO. We figured a couple of things would get our community buzzed for upcoming launches — merch and whitelisting opportunities! Who doesn’t love a chance to get merch and whitelisted for a blockbuster IDO? 😎

So, let’s look at what our IDO listing competition will look like. This will be the same format for every IDO that offers CED rewards, with some tweaks according to your feedback of course!

What are IDO listing competitions?

IDO listing competitions are a way to reward our community for sharing and creating content around new IDOs on OccamRazer. Every IDO which offers CED rewards will have an associated community competition. This competition will kick-off a week or two before each IDO is scheduled to start.

Before we get started, let’s mention a couple of very important things:

• End date — The competition for each IDO ends on the same date as registration for the IDO ends. Entries submitted after IDO registration has closed will not be considered,
• Social media — To be eligible to win, you must follow Occam.fi and our IDO partners on Twitter, join our community Telegram groups, and occasionally Discord/Reddit if applicable. Users will be prompted to enter their social handles on the competition entry forms. Users who do not follow both Occam.fi and the competition’s IDO partner cannot be chosen as winners,
• Registration, KYC, and Staking requirements— Like any IDO, you must still pass KYC, stake at least 150 OCC, and register for the IDO beforehand. If you win one of the competition categories, you will be notified and your address will be given guaranteed allocation— giving you guaranteed access to the IDO. Your allocation amount will be in keeping with your tier. If you do not fill these requirements, we cannot give you access to the IDO as part of the prize. However, you may still receive merch.

So, how do you enter? We have three categories that participants can win for each IDO:

• Quiz — The quiz is the simplest way to enter the IDO listing competition. For each IDO, we will ask you 10 questions about either the upcoming project, or Occam.fi. We will be asking questions from published materials, and of course our hosted content at OccamRazer TV. Answer these questions correctly, and meet the criteria above, and you will be entered into the random draw for quiz winners. If you win and meet our criteria, you will be whitelisted and receive guaranteed allocation for the IDO, and have a choice of a trucker hat or t-shirt Occam.fi merch! There are two winning spots for the quiz challenge!
• Creative — Got an inner artist? Love writing music? Making videos? Or maybe, you’re just a meme-lord… we don’t discriminate! Get creative for either Occam.fi or our competition IDO partners for a chance to win in this category. We want your creative entries, and we’re particularly interested in Telegram and Discord sticker/emoji packs, highly sharable memes, or video content. Almost anything creative will be considered. Our team will pick three finalists for the creatives challenge! Winners will receive whitelisting and receive guaranteed allocation for the IDO if you meet the above criteria, and a choice of hat, t-shirt, or hoodie Occam.fi merch! There are three winning spots for the creative challenge!
• Content — If you’re a master wordsmith, then you might want to craft some compelling content for Occam.fi or our current competition IDO! This could take any form. Maybe you have a blog you want to publish some content on, or a Medium channel. Perhaps you occasionally guest post on well-known publications. This could be anything from a full-feature to a small paragraph. Like the creative competition, winners will be shortlisted by the Occam.fi team. Winners will receive whitelisting and receive guaranteed allocation for the IDO if you meet the above criteria, and a choice of hat, t-shirt, hoodie, or a backpack Occam.fi merch! There are four winning spots for the creative challenge!

For any competition category, you MUST also do the following:

• Like and retweet the competition announcement on Twitter before the IDO registration date,
• Fill in the associated Google Doc to enter!

The CardWallet IDO Competition ends on the 15th of August 2021, at 16:00 UTC! Entries submitted afterwards will not be considered. You can enter the competition before you register, but if you win you must have registered with the ETH address provided in order to receive guaranteed allocation, before the deadline ends!

Frequently asked questions

Q1. I wrote an article for entry into the content competition, and I wasn’t selected as a winner. Can I reuse my content for the next competition?

A1. Yes — as long as it’s about Occam.fi and not the IDO itself. If you’re submitting content about a specific IDO, it must match the IDO that is participating in the competition at that time. For example, if you wrote an article on CardWallet, you could not use that to enter for THEOS. If the content was about Occam.fi, it can be reused until it wins. Do remember though, that content is judged on quality — it is not a random draw. So reusing content without changes is not recommended.

Q2. I produced artwork or creative content for entry into the content competition, and I wasn’t selected as a winner. Can I reuse my creations for the next competition?

A2. As for content, yes — but only as long as it’s a meme or artwork focused on Occam.fi and not the IDO itself. If you’re submitting creative content for a specific IDO, it must match the IDO that is participating in the competition at that time. For example, if you made a meme for Ledgity, you could not use that to enter for Mobius Network. If creations were for Occam.fi, they can be reused until they wins. Do remember though, that creative content is judged on quality — it is not a random draw. So reusing creations without changes is not recommended.

Q3. I’m already in tier 1 and 2 and will get into the IDO anyway, so why should I participate?

A3. This is a great question. Naturally, there’s still the opportunity to win merch. If you’re in tier 1 and 2 and you win any competition, you can choose from any of the available merch types. Other reasons to participate if you’re already in tiers 1 or 2 include spreading the word about the upcoming IDO to ensure it’s a successful sale!

Q4. I don’t have any social media accounts, can I still participate?

A4. Unfortunately it is a requirement of the competition to follow our social media channels and share the posts.

Q5. How will I get my merch?

A5. If you win, we will contact you to arrange delivery. Please note, some locations may not be possible to deliver to. If you think you might be in one of these locations, please consider if you should enter or let us know beforehand.
