Podcasts are on a growth spurt, with storytelling, comedy, crime and music leading the way. But while there are talk-shows and EDM-ified electronic music, where are the best chilled out music podcasts?

I spent some time researching the best ones, and put together the four best that you should follow.

Future Astronauts

Future Astronauts is a fantastic bi-monthly podcast hosted by Manchester’s very own, Soular Order. Himself an incredible future garage, chill and lo-fi producer, the podcast features 40 minutes of some of the best.

Future Astronauts has also released a 2nd podcast hosted by 100 day delay called Horizons. Episode 1 can be found here:

Night Swim Radio

A weekly radio show based out of Philadelphia in the states. Focused on Future and Hip-hop, these guys know their beats.

(Yes it’s crazy more people are not utilising YouTube as a podcast station)

Liquid Ritual

Created and hosted by London legends, Kareful and Lthl, this monthly radio showcases the best in Wave Music. But with London being the home of Grime, expect a huge amount of huge up-and-coming music from the city.

Sekai Selects

Put together by Resonata who runs the Sekai collective, this podcast is well worth a listen. Although not consistent with new releases, some of the older episodes are over an hour long and you’ll find some absolute gems in here.

Bonus round:

Song Exploder

Deconstructing songs in an interview format with the musicians themselves, Song Exploder is a fantastic podcast where the behind-the-scenes stories on lyrics, words, structure, synths and production are pieced together.

I host a weekly chill music podcast called Ocean Edge. You can find it:

We don’t yet have a website, but we should.
