As promised last week, we are back with the three new things that we discovered in the last week. As always, feel free to drop us a line if you want us to share something with the rest of the world that you discovered!

This week the things we discovered vary all the way from Architectures to science and technology.

  • Why is the White House called so? This was the question that suddenly stuck us. Turns out that the White House wasn’t always called the White House. It was named so by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1901. Here’s some more interesting facts about the White House.
  • Can we alter the Earth’s Rotation time period? The Earth’s rotation is determined by it’s Moment of Inertia and the other gravitational forces. So we suddenly wondered, what if some massive human activity changed the earth’s moment of inertia! We were shocked to find out that it has infact happened! Here’s read more about it.
  • Why does the Coke can make such a huge noise on opening? We all have been there, when we got embarrassed by everyone suddenly looking at us due to the loud opening noise! Guess what! It’s purposefully kept that way by Coca Cola. Apparently the loud noise ensures that others notice people drinking Coke around them and thus feel compelled to buy it. There’s another fun fact about Coca Cola. It’s sold across all countries of the world except two: North Korea and Cuba.
