Baptism of Fervent 7
On Sunday, December 7th 2021 we celebrated our first baptism on the shore of the Black Sea. Brother “Fervent” grew up as an orphan in the Catholic Church. He always knew God existed and even tried to pray to him but never understood or believed that God could forgive him.
Brother Fervent spent many years fighting in many wars and killing many people. The pain of guilt led him to drugs, alcohol, and women.
At one of his very lowest points he cried out to God and God sent someone to share with him the love of Christ. Pastor Caleb, Pastor Stefan, and brother Kevin from Odessa International began to share the gospel and the true forgiveness in Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit began to work in Brother Fervent’s life and soon he repented of his sins and put his faith in Jesus Christ! “Now I believe that Jesus Christ has forgiven my sins” he said!
Once Brother Fervent repented, there was nothing that could stop him from entering the waters of baptism!
He proclaimed, “I must do this, no cold water will stop me!” On December 5th he was baptized in the Black Sea.You might wonder about the name “Fervent,” this name, or call sign is his new name.
After the baptism, the church decided it would be appropriate to give him a new call sign to match his new life in Christ. Thus, he is now known as “Fervent 7”
Fervent -displaying passionate intensity, hot, glowing, burning… fervent in pursuit of Jesus and his mission!
Praise God for his work in the life of Brother Fervent!
