we’re growing old my love,
and it is beautiful.

it’s time to slow down
and care less.

it’s time to smile more
at what we thought were mistakes

but were just sideways steps
on a dance-floor that never stopped

long enough for us
to see.

it’s time to stop moving
so much

and running so hard
and fast

towards nothing
that matters in the end.

we had it
all the while

and we were always
beautiful

and free
