a writer’s greatest fear — the blank page!

30 days hath September…

April, June, and November…

National Novel Writing Month anyone? The challenge is to write 50,000 words over 30 days, which averages about 1666 words each day.

For those of us who are not used to writing that much fiction on a daily basis it is going to be hard. For others, who are experienced writers, that limit will be surpassed with ease. I’m happy to wave at you as you zoom by.

I’m not wanting you to pat me on the back for having a go. I’d just like you to know I admire all who write, regardless of genre. I’d like you to give me a little support in return, to remember how it was for you when you first started. Not much to ask is it?

I think I’ve been denying this part of me for far too long. I’ve only recently started blogging on here. I don’t mind not many people read it. It’s just something I enjoy. So if I’m having a tussle with actually trying to write a novel, then, just say “way to go, been there done that, have the t-shirt and here’s a writing tip that might help.”

Thanks x
