Traci Allen Shannon

Children’s Theatre Company and our audiences have been honored to have Traci’s talent and spirit with us for the last seven years as first a Performing Apprentice and then as an Acting Company member.

Artistic Director, Peter C. Brosius said in a statement, “ Friends, it is with great gratitude and deep sadness that I announce that Traci Allen Shannon has decided to leave the Acting Company of Children’s Theatre Company to spend more time with her daughter and husband. I first met Traci when she was a student at Howard University while auditioning for our Performing Apprentice Program. I was so impressed by her range, her presence, her confidence and talent. She became an Apprentice and was a comic delight in The Magic Mrs. Pigglewiggle, a powerful presence in Bud Not Buddy, and terrific in Fashion 47. She came back as an Acting Company member and rocked in Five Fingers of Funk and created magic with her roles as Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella in Cinderella, and Lizzie in Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy, A Year with Frog and Toad, The Scarecrow and His Servant and The Biggest Little House in the Forest. Traci has been an extraordinary ambassador in the community for CTC, a generous part of our team, and her professionalism, positive energy, fabulous laugh and extraordinary dignity inspired all of us. We are thankful for the gift of her talent and she has made this theatre a better place. We wish her and her wonderful family all our love.”

Below are some of our favorite moments onstage with Traci over the years.
