Children’s Theatre Company announced today that actor Rajané Katurah will join CTC’s Acting Company beginning with the 2019 — 2020 Season. Rajané relocated to Minnesota in 2017 when she accepted the offer to become one of the 2017 — 2018 Performing Apprentices and has most recently received rave reviews for her performance in Park Square Theatre’s Marie and Rosetta. During her time as a CTC Performing Apprentice, she performed roles in Dr. Seuss’s How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Wiz, and Dr. Seuss’s The Lorax, which was performed both at CTC as well as The Old Globe in San Diego, California. She joins as the fifth Company Member alongside Autumn Ness, Dean Holt, Gerald Drake, and Reed Sigmund.

We sat down with Rajané to ask her about this new exciting role.

CTC: What does being a CTC Acting Company Member mean to you?

Rajané Katurah: “It means the world to me to be an Acting Company Member at CTC. When I started my apprenticeship I was so intrigued by the current Company Members, and now it’s a full circle moment. This is also an opportunity for me to show CTC just how appreciative I am for all they’ve instilled in me!”

CTC: What was your time like as a CTC Performing Apprentice?

RK: “My time as a Performing Apprentice was a ‘beautiful challenge.’ I learned so much about myself as an artist and individual that I’ve been able to utilize in the few months that I’ve been away from CTC. I always tell people that I love the way they put so much trust in their PAs. There’s nowhere on Earth I could have gone and been a swing with no prior experience. I’m still in shock, yet SUPER grateful.”

CTC: Finally, what’s next for Rajané before starting next season at CTC?

RK: “I’m currently rehearsing Into The Woods with Ten Thousand Things Theatre directed by Marcela Lorca. I’ll be playing Little Red/Rapunzel/Cinderella’s Mother. Then, I’m excited to play Lady in Underdog Theatre’s production of How It’s Gon Be written by JuCoby Johnson and directed by H. Adam Harris. After that, I’ll be returning to Park Square Theatre to play Nina/Nurse in Agatha Christie’s Rule of Thumb directed by Austene Van.”
