A film career for office supplies
Now showing 0n office desks near you
And our nominees for the British Academy for Office Supplies Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role are: the rubber bands, the paper clips, the pens, the staplers, and the Post-it notes!
Excuse me?
Anyone who’s worked in an office certainly knows the meaning of the words dull, repetitive and boring. Several years ago before tablets and smartphones came by and we were hard-pressed to find ways to keep our wits on while invisibly chained to a desk, our only source of entertainment were online games and gossip magazines.
However, the IT department soon caught on and effectively put up firewalls to block access to our usual online haunts. Didn’t do any good for anyone’s upcoming performance appraisal either if the department head saw you getting busy with trolls, giants and monsters on your screen instead of figures, charts and reports.
So we had to look for a game that was entertaining enough to keep our bored skulls busy, but doesn’t look like we were visiting NSFW sites or doing anything off the company rulebook. A colleague came upon stationerymovies.com, a site where office supplies took the spotlight from overpaid and overrated actors by recreating a scene from popular movies using office supplies, and sometimes the ‘special participation’ of a human being.
You had to guess the title of the film and type it on a white bar, with the exact spelling mind you. When you got it correctly the bar will turn green and you proceed to the next scene. The pictures alone were hilarious but the game also tests how well you know films, as well as how creative you can be with your little desk companions. So if you are crazy for both films and stationery (what an odd combination), then go ahead and see how sharp you are with your cinematic knowledge through the following scenes:

How many were you able to guess? No I don’t have the answers unfortunately as the site’s already closed and our little stars packed up filming. Unless…
Can you recall any film or TV scenes you’ve seen lately? What are the things occupying your desk right now? You can guess what you’re going to do next, can you?
