How eMerge Insights tracks investment trends and venture activity in South Florida

At eMerge Americas, we’re helping transform Miami into the tech hub of the Americas by partnering with the entire tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem, from government to higher-ed, startups to investors, corporate enterprises to media. We’re helping connect the dots — between entrepreneurs, investors and talent. And we’re attracting the best and the brightest from around the world to come to Miami to launch, build, and successfully scale their ideas.

It’s undeniable that South Florida is a hotbed of entrepreneurial activity and opportunity. In addition to being ranked #1 in startup activity in the U.S. in 2017, 2018 was also an amazing year — especially for venture capital in South Florida, with Miami startups attracting almost $1.4 billion in VC funding — ranking 11th in the Nation in terms of investments dollars by volume.

For all these reasons, eMerge Americas has published today the first annual “eMerge Insights Report” on venture activity and investment trends in South Florida to help track and amplify the stories of Miami’s transformation.

We believe that Miami is on the cusp of something transformative — and we know the data and trends back it up. In order to better measure our ecosystem’s evolution and impact, we are partnering with former Miami Herald business editor and writer Nancy Dahlberg, Florida International University, and Knight Foundation to track and tell the story of Miami’s transformation.

The inaugural eMerge Insights Report is an annual publication that will track venture capital investments and trends in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale Metro area and across the state of Florida, with plans to expand and include deal flow throughout Latin America. To download the first annual eMerge Insights Report click here.

At this year’s conference taking place on April 29–30, 2019, at the Miami Beach Convention Center, eMerge Americas is also launching an investor-matchmaking platform, powered by Eventtia, for accredited investors to directly engage and set up meetings with more than 100 startups participating in the annual eMerge Startup Showcase. To sign on to the investor matchmaking platform, please click here.

The upcoming conference will also feature world-class investors from the newly launched $5 Billion SoftBank Innovation Fund, AOL co-founder Steve Case’s Revolution Growth, General Catalyst, Accel, NEA, and many more.
