Many companies and organizations need more and more computing power to perform a variety of tasks. These tasks can range from complex calculations to analyzing huge amounts of data. There are only few ways to get the required computing power. An entirely new opportunity to obtain additional processing capacities will be the HiveNet.

HiveNet will offer a distributed cloud computing service through utilization of the blockchain technology and artificial intelligence. The world is full of private and commercial computers that are only used a few hours per day. By connecting these computers, a huge cloud computing network, the HiveNet will be created. Customers benefit from this network in a lot of ways. The most important advantages are flexibility, reliability and cost-efficiency.

Flexibility

Cloud computing itself offers a lot of flexibility in terms of quantity, time and location. It enabled the execution of user-defined computing tasks, whenever, wherever and however needed. This is a huge advantage compared to centralized computing solutions (e.g. setting up an own on-premise data center). Not only in terms of flexibility but also cost-efficiency, reliability and more.

HiveNet is taking this to the next level. We want to make switching to the HiveNet as easy as possible. For example, customers will be able to use the same Docker containers for their computing tasks in the HiveNet, which they can use at any traditional cloud provider.

At traditional cloud providers, customers can save some money, if they book resources in-advance. However, this reduces the customers’ flexibility, because the booked ressources will be charged, even if they aren’t used. In the HiveNet no in-advance booking will be necessary. Customers will always pay the same low prices and therefore benefit from the full flexibility of cloud computing.

Reliability

When using the HiveNet, there is not just one big computing center. Instead, many individual computers, which are spread all over the world, are executing the ordered tasks. If one of these computers is not available, the HiveNet will still be online and simply reassigns the task to another machine.

HiveNet will be more secure in another way, too. Since there is not one big computing center, hackers or spies wouldn’t know where to attack for stealing a customer’s data. The individual tasks, computations and results are only existing transiently at unpredictable locations in the HiveNet and erased after the customer retrieved the results.

Cost-efficiency

Of course, every cloud customer has economic targets. It doesn’t matter if you run a small- or mid-sized company, if you are major player, a newly founded startup or represent a university — you don’t want to pay more for a specific service than you have to.

If you set up an own computing center, you pay a lot for the construction itself, as well as for the maintenance. You will pay, no matter how your demand is fluctuating. If you use a traditional cloud computing service, you increase your flexibility, but don’t necessarily save costs.

HiveNet saves on some of the most important cost-drivers for computing services

HiveNet on the other hand, will be much cheaper, because many important cost-drivers can be omitted, when computing resources are used, which are already available. HiveNet can save costs on buildings, hardware investments, cooling and maintenance. These savings are forwarded to the customers, who can save a lot of money with HiveNet´s cloud computing solution.
