CRO Purchase & Swap Guide
1. Purchase CRO through Crypto.com
Sign up for a Crypto.com account at https://crypto.com/sg/
To use the Crypto.com app, you will need to download it to your mobile device. The app is available on both Android Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
Follow the instructions and sign up for an account.
Next, you will need to link your payment source. You have a few ways to buy CRO, depending on what’s available with your exchange. The simplest way is to transfer fiat currency, like U.S. dollars, onto the account that you can then use to buy CRO directly. If you already have cryptocurrencies, you may be able to transfer these coins onto the account and then trade them on directly for Cronos tokens.
Click Trade, select Buy, and choose Cronos (CRO). You can use Credit Card, Crypto Wallet or Fiat Wallet to purchase CRO on Crypto.com App. Once you have selected the amount that you want to purchase, click Buy and Confirm to make your purchase.
Alternatively, you can sign up for a Crypto.com Exchange account and purchase CRO there.
1.2 Swap BNB to CRO
If you have BNB on your wallet (for example, Metamask), you can send BNB to your Crypto.com account.
Login to the Crypto.com App, and click “Transfer”. Select “Deposit”. Choose “Crypto” and “Binance Coin (BNB)” respectively. Next, select BSC as your network. A BNB Wallet Address will be generated and you can send BNB from your Metamask that address. Do remember that there will be a gas fee for the transaction. (Note: Please make sure to make a small transaction first to check that your BNB has reached the destination wallet address before continuing with a bigger amount)
Once your BNB is transferred to your Crypto.com account, you can swap your BNB to CRO through a few steps.
Click Accounts at the bottom of the app. Select “Crypto Wallet”. You will see your BNB balance there. Click “Sell”, and choose “Crypto Wallet”. You can select the option that you prefer, in this example, I will use USDT. Click Sell and Confirm to make the transaction.
Once the transaction is confirmed, you can find USDT in your crypto wallet on the app. Next, proceed to purchase CRO. You can refer to step 1.1 and choose “Crypto Wallet” as the payment method.
2. Withdraw/Transfer CRO to Metamask account
To make transactions in D.G.Pals, you will need to have CRO on your Metamask account.
Login to your Crypto.com App, select Transfer, Withdraw, Crypto and External Wallet respectively.
Click the + button on the top right corner of the app to add a new wallet address, and choose “Wallet Address”.
Choose Cronos from the list of cryptocurrencies, and make sure to select Cronos as your network. Key in information (Cronos wallet address on Metamask created earlier, refer to this article) and follow the steps to confirm the external wallet.
The wallet address will appear under the Withdrawal Whitelist.
Next, proceed to withdraw CRO from your account to the Metamask wallet address created earlier. There will be a gas fee for this transaction. (Note: Please make sure to make a small transaction first to check that your CRO has reached the destination wallet address before continuing with a bigger amount)
Alternatively, you can withdraw CRO purchased on Crypto.com Exchange as well. Make sure to select Cronos as the network.
Note: You can only withdraw your CRO from Crypto.com App/Exchange to an external wallet 24 hours after the wallet is added to the Withdrawal Whitelist.
3. Commonly Asked Questions
- Issue logging in after a verification email from Crypto.com is sent to you after registration
If you are signing up for a Crypto.com account, a verification email will be sent to you. Supposedly, when you click the “Log in” button in that email, the magic link will send you straight to the app to verify. But there are cases, especially for those on iOS, that clicking the button would not do anything. That is because the link is opened on Safari instead. If you encounter that, instead of clicking the button, just press and hold the “Log In” button until the URL appears, and copy that URL to open in another browser (Google Chrome, for example). It should redirect you straight to the app to verify after that.
