Gathering a group of busy industry leaders for a panel discussion on Offline First is no easy task, but it sure was a lot of fun. We felt bad that so many people who wanted to attend one of our two panel discussions at SXSW weren’t able to make it in to either packed room, so we decided to have the conversation one more time. Just for you!

The moment we found out our panel was so popular they were giving us a second time slot!

This is a special episode of The New Builders Podcast, because it’s basically a 2nd encore of our “From Mobile First to Offline First” panel from SXSW with all the same faces, except one key addition to the lineup. Alex Russell, of the Google Chrome team, gave a talk on Building Offline First Progressive Web Apps right before our back-to-back sessions at SXSW. After we were all done we met up at the bar for some well-deserved beers and some really great discussion about the future of Offline First. Alex since agreed to join us for this podcast to continue that conversation.

So if you attended our panel at SXSW, but especially if you didn’t, I encourage you to give a listen to this special episode of the New Builders Podcast. You’ll learn about the history and future of progressive web apps, some of the biggest advantages (and challenges) to building Offline First apps today, and how to convince your team/manager/company to adopt Offline First practices right now.

You can hop over to the New Builders episode summary for a rundown of topics hit on during the chat, or to subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, Google Play or SoundCloud. (There are lots more episodes related to Offline First that you can catch up on!)
