OfflinePal does the same for the “activities business” as Hotels.com and Booking.com has done for the hotel industry and the same as FINN.no and Craiglist has done in the classified ads market in Norway and in the US; collect everything into one service — to make it much easier for the users to find what they are looking for.

What does OfflinePal contain?

Activities! And not just bike rides or playgrounds. All activities! And by all activities we mean all activities. Concerts. Cinema. Show. Theatre. Mountain hiking, whether it’s a tent or just a forest ride in the area. Even indoor activities — from stuff to do on a rainy Sunday to birthday activities.

Built on the latest technology from Google

OfflinePal requires a very comprehensive technical solution, so using the latest and best technology from Google lets us build and deliver the world`s best activities service to all users.

The core of OfflinePal is built on Google Firebase, while the native app for Android and iOS is developer in Google Flutter, and written in Dart.

As one of the first companies in the world using Google Flutter, we have worked tightly with Google to test, discuss and come with important feedback to the Google engineering team, which ultimately ended with an invitation to Google I/O 2018, where we got to meet the Google Flutter engineering team at Googleplex.

Showcase app for Google

OfflinePal is now also a showcase app (even prior to launch) for Flutter, shown at https://flutter.io/showcase/

OfflinePal also takes extensively use of the brilliant Algolia search engine, which also serves the category pages, location service — and of course the whole search.

Do you need tips for a hiking trip nearby? You’ll soon find it on OfflinePal.

Partnering with large brands like Ticketmaster

In order to successfully build such a broad service, a comprehensive integration system is required against a number of booking services.

Companies like Ticketmaster, TicketCo and many more have embraced OfflinePal — and these systems are already integrated with OfflinePal, to get thousands of activities into the solution.

Examples of other partners are DNT (Den Norske Turistforeningen) — where their extensive outdoor tour databases are integrated directly into OfflinePal.

OfflinePal is being released in 2018 — stay tuned!

OfflinePal has been under full development since the summer of 2017, and the plan is a full launch during the 2nd quarter of 2018.

In the mean time, check out these (real) screenshots from the app and the website version being built up from the ground.
