This is the view from our little office. We like our office. It’s a bit chilly at times, but it’s our trusty home. This week, however, it has been a tad noisy. We’re not sure why the road outside is being dug up, but we can tell you that it’s not a quiet process. We have been making use of our headphones.

We’re back to full strength this week with the return of Ben. The majority of our development efforts continue to be on the player, and we are really pleased with our progress:

  • Transitions when swiping through cards are much smoother and now have some bounce to them. 👏🏽
  • Cards can be tapped on to expand them to their original proportions, allowing for non-square content. 👌🏿
  • The logic around entry points is now much better. Entering the player from the editor takes you to the card you were working on, as opposed to the top of your Monogram. Entering the player from the home screen always takes you into your Monogram from the beginning, as you would expect. 👊🏻
Swiping in the player

As we get closer to launch, we’re preparing the collateral we’ll need to get Monogram out in the wild. The intro video that we’re making is starting to come to life. We started the week with a hand drawn storyboard, and have finished it with a rough visual mock up. We can now work out what UI we need to animate, and also what printed assets we’ll need to create for the stop motion sections.

A section of our visual storyboard. Ignore the hipster coffee.

We plan to start shooting this over at MOO HQ next week. We’re looking forward to working with the creative team over there, and seeing our product come to life through stop motion!

Today we’re also pushing a new version of the Monogram beta, that includes the updates above. We’re excited to get our testers using the new features and hear their feedback. It’s not too late to get involved. If you want to help, sign up to beta test Monogram!

That’s all for this week!

👋
