People are listing wonderful, surprising, and surprisingly wonderful items on their Stacks. While this is a joy to explore, keeping up with the curation of this flood of content has become somewhat of a race against time. Tom started the week by hunting down the right colours and URLs for an unbelievable 110 listings in a row, which I imagine resulted in him suffering from some severe RSI. The rest of us can only hope to keep up.

This was as good a time as any to split the team for a few days — Tom and Utku put their heads together and spent this week thinking about the Next Big Thing for Offset, while the rest of us continued iterating on the ever growing Stacks based on the feedback we’ve been getting.

Mainly, we’ve decided to put more trust into our users when it comes to listing things with their personal choice of links, hopefully increasing their feelings of ownership… Oh, and decreasing the time we spend on curation duty. Whatever plans there were to gamify our internal moderation flow will have to wait!

We’ve also put together a solid roadmap for Stacks for the next couple of weeks, with a general focus on more connections and more discoverability. Expect to see some big additions along the way!

Meanwhile, one of the coolest nuggets to come out of Team Utku & Tom’s brainstorming sessions is the knowledge that blank Moo Square Luxe Business Cards are the best things for prototyping since Post-it notes. And if this means everything we build from now on is square-shaped, so be it!
