Which is the first name that comes to mind when I say serial killer? Jack the Ripper, Freddy Kruger or Jason Voorhees. Slasher-Horror movies dominated the Hollywood in the 80’s. In fact they made 12 Friday the 13th Movies.

Now illfonic and Gun Media have developed the Friday the 13th Video game. Friday the 13th: The Game is a survival Horror game. This started as a Kickstarter campaign and now it is available for pre-order on Steam, Xbox one and Playstation 4.

In the game, you can play as the most famous killer in horror Jason Voorhees or you can team up with your friends for an online co-op and try to survive either by stealthily hiding from Jason or by escaping from him.Think you can take Jason on? You and the other counselors will have that chance as well.

The game looks like an old 80’s film that you are watching on a VHS. The developer has carefully crafted this world to remind you of everything you remember about Friday the 13th, right down to the visual fidelity of the 80’s.

The game is set in the iconic camp crystal lake from the movies, players will try to survive in a campground setting. Complete with a lake, cabins, and crazed killer who won’t stop until you die a gruesome death.

The game looks stunning as seen from its demo gameplay and trailer. It has good measures of Gore, Blood, Horror and sex in it as it was in the movies.

There are many brutal ways to kill the camp counselors while playing as the titular Hokey mask wearing serial Killer and if you are faint hearted then this game is not for you.

Recently we have seen different takes on survival genre from the likes of Dying light, H1N1, Dayz, Farcry Primal and The upcoming Scum.

But Taking a classic character and a successful movie franchise like this which is perfect for this kind of setting and delivering to the high expectations is tough.But with a highly qualified team like this, it shouldn’t be so hard.

The creators and the designers have paid so much attention to detail, everything from the grass on the outside to the flooring inside the cabin looks real.

Combined with the visuals the music composer who worked for the original Friday the 13th Score and Iconic horror movies like House 1&2, Swamp thing, The Hills have Eyes 2 is also working on this game.

so expect to feel the anxiety and be terrified while trying to avoid getting brutally murdered by the Masked killer Jason Voorhees.
