Top 5 reasons why you would want to buy a Samsung Galaxy S8:

The Screen:

The Samsung Galaxy S8 arguably has the most beautiful, and most vibrant colored display. The phone has a higher screen to body ratio of 83.6% when compared to its predecessor i.e. the S7. Hence you have more screen to look at for its slightly longer and thinner frame. This makes the device so much more appealing and immersive to use.

This coupled with the amazing super AMOLED display, which has a staggering 100,000:1 contrast ratio, a wide color gamut, And the colors on the device are impeccably beautiful, vivid, vibrant and pleasing to the eye at the same time.

The Screen is very beautiful and pleasing to use and experience. Not to forget about the amazing QHD resolution on the S8 display, which provides a Crisp and Crystal Clear experience while watching movies, gaming, and using the device in general.

They are calling this the “Infinity Display” due to its incredible end-to-end screen.

The Camera:

Primary camera:

Speaking in terms of the Camera’s sensor, the 12-megapixel “Dual Pixel” sensor, same as the one in its predecessors is reprised here. The camera has a f/1.7 lens, comes equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and phase-detect autofocus (PDAF).

There are no new camera modes added to the S8, it comprises the usual hyper-lapse mode, Panorama mode, Selective Focus mode, which is similar to the iPhone 7’s Portrait mode.

Certain filters similar to Snapchat’s AR (augmented reality) filters are also available to play around with.

The camera also has a manual mode and Auto HDR options.

We have to keep in mind that, the S8 improves upon its predecessors’ camera, with new firmware, some added options and improved processing achieved using a new Image Signal Processor, although this is a pretty considerable improvement, we don’t know how good of an improvement this is when compared to its predecessors and the smartphone industry in general.

Secondary camera:

The Galaxy S8 front shooter has been improved quite a lot, it is 8MP and has a f/1.7 lens. The most prominent and unique feature is that this front camera also has auto focus incorporated in it, which can now easily keep your face in focus, for those hassle-free selfies!

Auto — focus in secondary cameras is a very rare feature even in high-end smartphones today.

Also, Low light shots look pretty decent and all the playful and silly Snapchat like filters available in the rear camera can be used here as well.

Great Security:

Samsung wants to assure all around security and privacy of the users and hence has put in various effective security mechanisms to prevent unwanted snooping, and at the same time assuring convenience for the users. S8 provides us three hassle-free ways to unlock our phones:

1.IRIS scanner: Simply hold up your Samsung Galaxy S8 and align your eyes with the twin circles on-screen to scan your irises. Your phone is unlocked with a look.

2.Facial recognition: Raise your phone as if you were taking a selfie to use facial recognition, and unlock your phone on a successful face match.

3.Fingerprint Sensor: The fingerprint scanner on the back of the phone can also be used.

These 3 variants of security are quite essential and make the phone less susceptible to unwanted or unauthorized access, and thereby protecting the user’s privacy and security.

It also incorporates the defense-grade security platform called Samsung Knox.

Knox’s level of security begins at the chip level with hardware-based encryption. Building on this chip-level security is five crucial layers of protection that work at both hardware and software levels. Samsung Galaxy S8, use the upgraded Knox 2.8 to safeguard user data around the clock.

Samsung Dex:

DEX is probably the most exciting and utilitarian feature, with the new S8.

All you need to go is, plug in your phone into a DEX station which connects to the monitor, connect a keyboard and mouse and you’re good to go.

It lets you send an email, format or edit text, and copy and paste between apps, browse the internet and use various other functionalities, with ease and efficiency

It also allows you to take your phone apps to Desktop mode, enabling ease of use for apps which are more appropriate on PCs.

The Galaxy S8 are the first smartphones in the market, to possess both Bluetooth 5.0 and gigabit speed LTE.

Bluetooth 5.0 technology which was announced last December, which is supposed to have twice the speed and 4 times the range when compared to the previous version. This speed and range are also applicable in low-energy mode, which is true in the case of most accessory devices. Also, the bandwidth has been increased to 2Mbps, and the broadcasting capacity is 8 times better.

These new flagship phones are the very first ones to hit gigabit LTE speeds. This is solely possible due to the snapdragon 835, which consists the QUALCOMM X16 LTE modem which can hit gigabit speeds. This LTE speed is applicable for the Exynos 8895 variants as well.
