Glimmer of hope: The rise of the revolution amidst a pandemic
As tensions continue to rise, the current state of freedom in the country is being jeopardized.
It’s been quite an eventful few months, hasn’t it? The cases of COVID-19 keep the world in an unknown state as the people step into the “new normal”. Yet, time is not slowing down and everything can change in a blink of an eye. It’s amazing but also terrifying. As the days go by, all anyone could see, as they scroll down social media, are people trying to make it out alive.
It started with the Black Lives Matter movement. The rampage and riots are indescribable. People across the globe trying to bring justice and equality for Black people, simultaneously, waking up others to the realities of police brutality. The outrage and oppression motivate protesters to continue fighting to see justice be served. Despite the filters of privilege and seeing the world as a “happy utopia”, the injustice to the oppressed sectors of society are still present, nonetheless.
As tensions continue to rise, the current state of freedom in the country is being jeopardized when the @nti-T3rr0r Bill is set in motion. It puts every move a person does in the spotlight. Everything can be put against you. Everything can be used to hurt and harm you, similar to a deer in the headlights, anticipating the unknown of when the car would crash and kill. It is labeled as a ploy to silence people and wave the country with fear so they must obey.
Although, man is not known to give up. People will remain resilient. People will continue to fight in the war against prejudice with their glimmers of hope.
It is a mad world out there, isn’t it? It’s scary, for sure. Yet, those glimmers of hope are soon going to reignite the flame.
Oh, what a day that would be…
