It started somewhere between home and here. Between London of the 90s, Oakland of the early 2010s, the New York of today. A steady blend of everywhere and nowhere, of France, Kenya, Cameroon and that beautiful, boisterous British City, I grew to inhabit the silence that lives between listening and reflecting, observing and mirroring. The space that sits between contexts and continents.

It is this same muscle that, I now find, understands the possible inside people, that hears the words behind their words, that knows why not comes before how. As an author requires you to suspend disbelief, so to do founders count on you to dream with them — momentarily.

And so, this is a small space to share some of those thoughts. The learnings around how best to support founders, to build and serve the strongest community of entrepreneurs, to understand the effing hugeness of some opportunities, but also to ask some of the critical questions around venture and society.

I hope you’ll indulge me — and dream with me — as we bring a little poetry to VC.
