Good morning everyone! In this #WorldWide100Challenge blog post, we’re introducing Santa Prancāne. She’s from Latvia and she has been in the UK for 9 years. She has decided to share her experience with us:

“Hey! I am Santa and I’m originally from Latvia, Riga and studied BSc and then MA International Tourism Management at UCB. I moved to Birmingham, UK in 2011 to start my studies at UCB.

What I love about the UK is that it is an excellent place for academic, professional and personal development. I love how global and open-minded it is.

When I was at school in Latvia I didn’t think I will study abroad in the UK, I decided to do it quite late. I believe the universe pushed me to go. It was fate. Hehe

I’ve made friends from all over the world at UCB and Birmingham. I have a lot of travelling to do to visit them all once we’re back to normal. In my wedding last year from 30 guests I had people from 11 different countries. That’s amazing, I think.

I was amazed by how international and open-minded the UK is. I also have to mention politeness. Other countries can learn from the UK to be more kind to others. :)”
