Anthony Davis gets a lot of flack for not living up to his true potential.

But this season, he’s been proving almost all of his haters wrong.

He’s averaging superstar numbers that are resemblant to last season. And more importantly, he’s played more games than last season.

Thus far, Davis has been playing great basketball.

And on Sunday night, he illustrated just how phenomenal of a basketball player he is.

In a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Davis recorded 27 points, 25 rebounds, 7 steals (a career-high), 5 assists and 3 blocks -a stat line no one in NBA history has ever put up.

Additionally, he also joined an exclusive group of players to score at least 25 points, grab at least 25 rebounds and dish out at least 5 assists.

After the game, teammate Austin Reaves praised Davis for his aggression and prowess.

Via TSN:

“Ten offensive rebounds is crazy,” said Austin Reaves, who scored 19 points for Los Angeles. “I did feel any time we shot and missed, he was there to give us a second-chance opportunity with offensive rebounds, get himself to the line. The steals, I don’t know. The steals are crazy. Seven steals is very, very impressive.”

However, despite the history he made, Davis is more proud that his team played together and won the game -something they needed as they are ninth in the Western Conference with a record of 36–30.

Via ESPN:

“I think we’re hitting our stride right now,” Davis said after the win lifted the Lakers to six games above .500 for the first time all season. “We’re just trying to keep going, keep pushing, knowing that just like last year, all we got to do is get in. We feel like it’s tough for anybody to beat us in a seven-game series. … We like our chances against anybody at that point.”

LeBron James contributed a near triple-double to the victory, with 29 points on 62.5 percent shooting, 9 assists and 8 rebounds.

The Lakers beat the Timberwolves 120–109.
