Bruce Sudano recently released the music video for “The Mountain,” the second single off his latest album Spirals Vol. 1…Not A Straight Line To Be Found, via Purple Heart Recording.

The message of “The Mountain” is this: keep on climbing because looking down isn’t really an option. According to Sudano, “Life is tricky. I’m here to spread as much light as I can.” The lyrics to “The Mountain” do just that — conveying wisdom on how to get over the mountains of life.

“But you canʼt look at the mountain / When youʼre reaching for the sky / You canʼt look at the mountain / Itʼs always up too high / Casts a mighty shadow / Lets no light into your eyes / When all youʼve got is faith to fly.”

Most people know who Sudano is, they just don’t realize it. He wrote some of music’s greatest hits for mega-stars such as Michael and Jermaine Jackson, Dolly Parton, and Donna Summer, his late wife — hits like “Tell Me I’m Not Dreamin’ (Too Good to Be True), “Starting Over Again,” and “Bad Girls.”

The video, animated by Elliott Mason, takes a serious subject and injects it with bubbly optimism, thus infusing the visuals with encouragement rather than preachy how-to instruction.
