Incorporate SEL in classrooms
When incorporating Social Emotional Learning (SEL) in your classroom, you create a supportive learning environment. Creating a safe learning environment where students can feel engaged and comfortable learning is crucial. By incorporating SEL into our classrooms, students can begin their day with a calming and stress-free attitude which helps them have a positive view toward learning. In addition, SEL helps create a community within the class that teaches students to support one another, hold each other accountable when mistakes are made, and work as a team. Lastly, SEL allows students to work on their own self-management, self-awareness, social awareness, and responsible decision-making by allowing them to be in tune with their thoughts and feelings. SEL will allow students to grow in multiple areas as individuals and as a team.
