Students learned about the different types of severe weather, and how to protect themselves from each type. They watched videos to see what the weather looks like, and then they made thunder with plastic bags After, they played a game teaching them how to stay safe in the storms. Then, they learned about what objects go into emergency kits and collected some materials from around their house. They ended the day by making forts to simulate storm shelters.

The students started to learn about the different natural disasters that can occur. They engaged in a hands-on activity where they made clay structures that were supposed to survive those natural disasters. Finally, they took a Kahoot on the different natural disasters they learned about today.

Quotes:

Edmanuel: “My favorite thing was the natural disaster game we played.”

Carlos: My favorite thing this week was the energy game with the solar panels and wind turbines.
