Thank You Mountain View!
We are excited to announce that Olimpico Learning is one of the winners of the Inspire Mountain View community challenge! A big thank you to Mountain View, The Los Altos Community Foundation and the grant funders: Google, Synopsis, Symantec and LinkedIn for helping Olimpico Learning and Alta Vista High School bring Build Your Vision to benefit the Mountain View community.
Olimpico Learning is partnering with Alta Vista high-school to inspire continuation high school students in a STEAM project creating 3D Printed Prescription eye-glass frames for low-income community members. The innovative, technology-centric Build Your Vision project will bring together all of Mountain View to promote STEAM learning for our youth, using our social-justice project as the framework.
We have already started on our frame prototypes, and are hard at work developing and implementing an innovative 3D and CAD-centric curriculum this fall for Alta Vista students to learn the process of creating these frames from the ground up.
It was a long, wonderful process, and we are so excited to get started on Build Your Vision! More details on our project are available here:
