We created a marketing video at OMGPool to educate new people about the OMG Network: a public, permissionless network of value that is being built by OmiseGO.
A Summary of the Video
The OMG Network is a layer 2 solution on Ethereum based on Plasma that focusses on financial inclusion for everyone, across jurisdictions and geographical borders. It enables P2P payments in real-time and opens the door for new economies, because of its synergy of tokenization, micropayments, and decentralized exchange of any kind of tokenized currency that a person may want to transact.
Plasma, in essence, is a framework for scaling blockchains. By using Plasma, OmiseGO already realized a velocity of > 4000 transactions per second on its Ari test network (on the dAPP Plasma Dog). The goal is to achieve millions or even billions of transactions per second in the long term.
We identify 3 key components that give the OMG Network a competitive edge:
- DEX on Plasma. Multi-asset and cross-chain compatibility, scalable and secure via proof-of-stake.
- White-label SDK. For enterprises to customize, brand and launch their own eWallet on top of the OMG Network.
- Digital Asset Gateway. Access, manage and transact with digital assets that are kept securely on chain.
OmiseGO already partnered with innovative companies, such as ShinhanCard, Hoard, Mass Vehicle Ledger, and Quantstamp. Moreover, a number of strategic investors partnered with OmiseGO: Global Brain, SVI Investment, Krungsri Finnovate, Golden Gate Ventures.
