The levels and the raffles

We have introduced the Levelling System within our Old Master Meme Gallery to reach three important goals for our project.

  1. We want to avoid Whales and Bots buying out most NFTs at public sale to dump them later on the secondary market and let the floor price get under the minting price.
  2. To incentivize community members’ effort into the project and reward them with higher chances in the raffles and airdrops.
  3. Make it visible if a community member is extraordinarily successful in activities regarding community growth.

How do the levels help to reach the goals?

For all the things the community member does regarding community growth, they get XPs.
These XP’s are used for community levels and events. If an event is running, the XPs collected from the event start are counting towards the event level. Therefore, and independent from the event, all XPs depend on the community level simultaneously. You can read more about it here.

Until the minting starts, XPs collected, and, although won, challenges help get 1-x seats for minting OMMs in the pre-sale.

To authenticate a member before minting in the pre-sale, we have created our Signed Message Service. This service is coupled with our Discord Bot. Members can then claim their pre-sale link by executing a bot command containing the public address of their wallet. This command will then generate the link within our backend and DM it to the executing member. It is coupled with the member’s wallet.

With that, we reach our first goal: Whales cannot have too much of the OMMs, for bots minting is more complex, and the community owns a majority of up to 6K OMMs, perfectly distributed to 2000+ members. So only a minority of the available OMMs are available in the public sale. These are protected by a rule that says: ONLY 5/transaction at a specific timeframe per wallet address.

To reach the second goal, we have one of the easiest methods you can imagine to raise the chances for higher community ranks: FOR EACH LEVEL members get in the community levelling, THEIR NAME IS PUT ON THE LIST for the random numbers.

For Example:

Baxt38 has reached community rank Meme Connoisseur because he was pretty active and collected a lot of XPs for referring and writing. For them, it means they will be on the list 2 times for raffles. If someone has level 2, this person is on the list only 1 time, because the rank is: Art Lover.

So if the random number generator is configured, it starts with a 1 and ends with 3. In this example, Baxt38 would have an extraordinary higher chance to win, but there’s still a chance for everyone.

Our ranking system reaches the third goal. After that, the levels in the community levelling system and events will represent a rank at a defined position. You can read all about the levelling system and the rank in this article.

In the end, the rank is highlighted in the current colour of the member’s nickname and if you hover over the member’s handle in its profile. Try it out.
